What is a cleft lip and cleft palate?
Cleft lip and cleft palate are birth defects in which the tissues do not join together to form a complete lip and mouth region. This clefting occurs when the fetus is still developing in utero, resulting in a physical split or division that can affect either one side or both sides of the mouth. While cleft lip and cleft palate are typically considered birth abnormalities, they can be linked to hereditary conditions or syndromes.
The ideal age for cleft lip and palate surgery
Cleft lip and palate surgery are most commonly performed on infants and young children.
- Cleft lip repair is generally done between 2 and 6 months of age.
- Cleft palate treatment is usually done after the cleft lip repair in a separate surgery, typically between 9 and 18 months.
- Regular visits to the clinic should continue until the child reaches 21 years of age.
However, the ideal age for surgery will depend on the individual case and the health status of the child. During the consultation, Dr. Anjali will help you determine the best course of action for your child’s situation.

What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, /images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, /images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
